This is the moment a dad caught a pair of flytippers red-handed and refused to let them get away with it.

Craig Hardwick confronted the two men on camera after he saw them trying to dump an old mattress near his home in Walsall.

The men got scared after he told them he was sending the footage to police and they agreed to remove it.

But when Mr Hardwick, 37, continued to follow them with his camera they threatened to abandon the mattress outside his house on Wing Close.

But he stick to his guns and demanded they dispose of their waste properly.

Mr Hardwick apologised for swearing when he posted the video on Facebook on Sunday.

He wrote: ‘Unfortunately I see this sort of thing everywhere and it’s disgusting.

‘Though I’ve never seen anything like a mattress. It infuriated me when they said they were leaving it there and I just had to do something.’


He added he was not sure if the men had taken the mattress to an official site.

Steve Gittins, from Walsall Council, thanked Mr Hardwick in an email.

He wrote: ‘Thank you for being community spirited enough to challenge such inappropriate behaviour.’
