Varsity officials confirmed they will soon give an application to the civic body regarding the same. The University ground as well as the GMDC ground are both in the ownership of Gujarat University. The varsity plans to facilitate this through an underground walkway and has recommended that VVIP movement too could be eased with the walkway being constructed.

GU vice chancellor, , said, “We will soon put forth an application before the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) regarding this. The structure plan for the underground walkway will be prepared by the varsity. “The plan for building an underground walkway was proposed first some two years ago but no request has been forwarded regarding this yet,” he added.
