CHANDIGARH: The Tricity residents better keep their umbrellas handy this week as the Met department officials have said one or two rainfall spells are expected occasionally.
The levels are likely to remain up while the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to fluctuate. According to the Met department forecast, the average maximum day temperature will remain around 34°C, but is likely to drop during rain spells.
On Sunday, the maximum temperature was recorded slightly higher than that on Saturday owing to no rainfall activity. It remained at 34.8°C, 2 degrees above normal, while on Saturday it was 33.8°C, one degree above normal.
The minimum temperature witnessed a minor drop and was recorded at 25.2°C, 2 degrees above normal. On Saturday, the minimum temperature rested at 26.6°C, 4 degrees above normal.
The humidity level was recorded at 87% on Sunday, which was two points higher the day before at 89%.
For Monday, the Chandigarh Met department has given a forecast of generally cloudy sky with likely one or two spells of rain and thundershowers. Maximum temperature is expected to be 34°C while minimum will be around 25°C.
