A man was spotted holding a snake while riding a mobility scooter in South London this week – and it’s safe to say, people found it pretty random.
Witness David Videcette saw the man holding the creature at arm’s length as he rode along a path next to the South Circular Road in Streatham Hill.
He posted a photo of the bizarre scene on Twitter with the caption: ‘Just some guy on a mobility scooter, grappling with a snake, as he makes his way along a south London street…’
Mr Videcette said: ‘I’m from south London, and it’s full of odd and eclectic characters, you can never really tell what some of them are going to do.
‘But this guy is the king of juxtaposition – fighting with his snake on the south circular as he rode his mobility scooter – I was amazed at it.
The man, who was photographed with one hand on his mobility scooter and the other holding the snake by its tail, was seen at around 6pm on August 20.
Mr Videcette’s post attracted scores of comments on Twitter.
Caroline Daly said: ‘Having grown up in South East London I find this strange but have probably seen stranger things…’
Laura Johnson added: ‘Standard South London. In last few weeks have seen snake, ferret, bearded dragon and macaw all just hanging out with their people on high streets or cafes.’
