Two paedophiles were reportedly allowed to marry in prison where they were jailed for committing child sex offences.
The wedding of James Clelland and Donald Main at Glenochil in Clackmannanshire has sparked outrage, with sources describing the civil ceremony as a ‘disgrace’
Main, 30, and Clelland, 40, married in the jail’s visitors’ room and were joined by friends and family.
The room is understood to have been decorated with flowers picked from the prison grounds while a finger buffet had been laid out for after.
After the ceremony they reportedly spent a few hours together celebrating with family and taking pictures.
reports the sick celebrations on Monday also doubled up as a 30th birthday party for Main.
According to reports, Clelland returned to jail to marry Main before leaving his new husband to serve the rest of his sentence.
One source told the newspaper: ‘It’s a disgrace they were allowed to wed. These two are as depraved as each other. They deserve each other.’
Main, of Elgin, received a life sentence in 2013 after ing boys he didn’t know aged 10 to 16.
Lord Uist told him that he was an ‘incorrigible sex offender and a serious danger to the public’.
Main was previousy jailed for 40 montsh after being convicted of abducting a boy of 12.
He was also sentenced to 12 months detention in 2007 after breaching a probation order through indecent towards boys aged 11 to 13.
He is a registered sex offender and will be supervised for the rest of his life.
Dad-of-two Clelland, who was previously married to a woman, was jailed for seven years in 2006 after a decade of abuse against three children.
Teachers at a school in Lanarkshire caught him trying to lure a young girl away in 2005.
He was freed from jail in 2016.
Conservative justice spokesman Liam Kerr said: ‘They have ruined lives. As such, the role of jail should have been to punish them and keep the public safe, not for them to find love with each other.
‘The many victims both leave behind will be deeply upset by this.’
